1 ¾ C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 ¼ C. sugar
2 eggs
½ C. shortening
1/3 C. molasses
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. old-fashioned rolled oats
½ - 1 C. raisins or nuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar. Add the shortening and eggs and beat together. Next mix in the molasses and vanilla. Fold in the oats. Fold in the raisins or nuts. Drop by teaspoons on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for around 8-10 minutes.
