1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon fine salt
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and divided
1 cup sour cream

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly with a fork to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

Pour in 7 tablespoons of the melted butter (reserve 1 tablespoon for later) and add the sour cream to the bowl.

Using a fork, gently mix the ingredients until the dough begins to come together. Press the dough down and drag it along the bottom of the bowl using the fork to incorporate everything. Avoid overmixing, as it can make the biscuits tough.

If needed, use your hand to lightly knead and bring the dough together inside the bowl. The dough should be slightly moist and shaggy in texture.

Using a ⅓ cup measuring cup or scoop, portion out the dough and drop it onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. The more uneven the tops, the crispier the texture will be after baking.

Brush the tops of the biscuits with the remaining tablespoon of melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the biscuits are lightly golden brown on top.

Remove from the oven and let the biscuits cool slightly on a wire rack.
