1 (4-5 lb) boneless pork butt or shoulder roast
4 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 onion sliced
12 oz Dr Pepper soda
1 cup of barbecue sauce
8-10 Rolls
Prepared coleslaw to top sandwiches
Pickle slices
Sliced onions for topping sandwiches

Directions:

1 Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Rub the outside of the roast with the dry seasonings on all sides.
2.Pour the Dr. Pepper over the pork and cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 7-8 hours.
3. The meat will be very tender. Using two forks, shred the pork and place back in the juices.
4. Add barbecue sauce or serve on the side to add to the sandwiches if desired.
5. Service on hamburger buns and top with coleslaw or pickles, onions and barbeque sauce.

This is a "go to" recipe for serving a crowd and keeping in budget. A few sisters can make a roast and bring it to an event and just like that your are serving 50+ people!
