1 frozen pie shell, baked
¼ cup cornstarch
⅔ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt. Gradually add milk while whisking. Cook in double boiler until thick, about 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Whisk a little of the hot mixture to temper the egg yolks and then add this mixture into hot mixture. Cook 5 minutes, remove from heat and let cool slightly. Add butter and vanilla and stir to combine. Pour into pie shell and chill.
