1 cup packed brown sugar
⅓ cup shortening
1 ½ cup dark molasses
⅔ cup water
7 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix brown sugar, shortening, molasses and water in large bowl.

Stir n flour, baking soda, salt and spices.

Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.

Roll 1/4 dough at a time. 1/4 inch thick on floured surface.

Cut out and place on lightly greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

Bake 350º 10-12 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched.
