Thawed Turkey ( I usually get 16-20 pound)
3 sticks of room temperature butter
3 cups mayonnaise

Directions:

Thanksgiving morning….
Rinse turkey with water
Slather the turkey with 2 sticks of butter, inside and out
Slather the turkey with the mayonnaise
Stuff the turkey with Grandma Shirlee’s Sage dressing.
Add the last stick of butter in the cavity with dressing

Bake turkey at 325º for 4 1/2- 5 hours
Or until 165°F in the breast
170–175°F in the thigh
165°F in the stuffing.
Baste the turkey with pan drippings after 2 hours..continue to baste until done
When the turkey is golden brown, cover loosely with foil.

Let turkey stand for approximately 20 minutes before carving
