- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients listed on the box
- 2 pounds ricotta cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
2. Prepare the cake mix as directed on the package and pour the batter into your greased dish.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gently spoon this mixture over the unbaked cake batter—don’t stir.
4. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Gently fold in the whipped topping.
6. Once the cake has cooled, spread the pudding mixture evenly over the top.
7. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or overnight if you can wait.
8. Slice, serve, and enjoy a slice of layered heaven!
