¼ cup butter
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
4 eggs
3 T. white Karo syrup
1 ½ cup sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 9 inch pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate in top of a double boiler. Place the eggs in a mixing bowl and beat until light. Beat in syrup, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Add nuts and slightly cooled chocolate mixture. Pour into a pie shell. Bake at 350º 25-35 minutes or until the top is crusty and the filling is set but soft inside.

I'm not sure where this recipe came from; but on my recipe card it is attributed to Mary Beth Busbee, wife of George Busbee who was governor of Georgia from 1975 until 1983. He was from Albany, Georgia.
