¾ cup softened butter
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup pecans, toasted and chopped fine
½ to 1 cup jam or preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and vanilla, beating well. Gradually stir in the flour and pecans. Put half of dough evenly in a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Spread jam evenly over dough in the pan. Drop remaining dough by tablespoons over jam and spread evenly. Bake at 325º for 1 hour. Cool and cut into bars.
