1 3/4 cup light brown sugar
4 heaping T. cornstarch
5 egg yolks, beaten well
1/2 stick butter, softened
1 large can evaporated milk
2 1/2 cups milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Put the filling ingredients in a large heavy pan. Mix well and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Pour filling into 2 baked pie shells.

5 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff. Spread over the filling. Bake at 350º until meringue is brown.
