5 T butter
4 cups thinly sliced large onions
¼ t pepper
5 beef bouillon cubes
5⅓ cups water
1 t salt
5 2" toast rounds
2 T grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In hot butter in saucepan, sauté onions until deep golden brown; sprinkle with pepper. Bring bouillon cubes and water to boil; stir well. Add onions, salt; simmer, covered, 1 hour. Place toast round in each soup dish; pour soup over it. Sprinkle with cheese.
