3 sticks (1 1/2 cups) butter, softened
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
8 oz sour cream
1 cup boiling water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
Mix flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Add this mixture to the creamed butter and sugar, alternating with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
Mix in boiling water.
Bake in a 10" tube pan at 325º for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
