Cookies:
1 ½ c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. almond extract
1 large egg
2 ½ c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. granulated sugar

Icing:
1 c. of powdered sugar
1 TBSP plus 1 ½ tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Mix powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg in large bowl. Add in dry ingredients slowly.

If cutting out shapes use a floured rolling pin and roll dough out to desired thickness. (Not too thin.)

Bake 7-8 minutes.

When cookies are cooled, ice and decorate as desired.

The key to cookies tasting so good is to mix the butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract good first. Then add in the rest of the ingredients slowly.
