2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. white syrup
1/4 t. salt
2 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the cream and milk together. Put about 1/3 of it into a heavy cooking pan along with sugar, salt, and syrup. Cook on med-low heat for about 1/2 hour or until mixture become pale beige color. Turn up heat and add 1/2 the remaining cream mixture. Stir. You don't have to be fussy about the amount, the important thing is to maintain at a boil or else if may curdle.

Add the rest of the cream mixture about 15 minutes later. Stir. Cook to a firm soft ball at 230 - 234 degrees.

Pour into buttered pan. Cool and cut into squares.

(optional) Dip into melted chocolate.
