Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 bratwurst
2 12 oz beers
1 cp butter
2 sm onion, rough chop - divided

Ball Park hot dog buns or another hoagie like bun
Stone ground mustard
Mayo
Pickles

Directions:
Directions:
Pour the beer into a stock pot large enough for the brats to lay in. Add the butter and heat on med/low till the butter melts. Increase the heat and bring it to a boil. Add the brats and 1 of the onions, reduce the heat and simmer 20 min. You don't want it to boil but it should be just under a boil.

Remove the brats from the pot and strain the onions from the beer/butter stock. Return the onions to the pan with the other onion and 2-3 Tbls of butter. Let the onions saute over med heat while you get the brats on the grill.

Fire up your grill and preheat to med. Grill the brats on the top rack with the lid closed 8-10 min. Move to the main grill right above the heat and grill 2-3 min each side or long enough to give them some color, some char.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I don't do sauerkraut with them because Tim doesn't like it but he loves onions so I saute extra onion.
