4 -5 pounds Chuck roast or other roast, whatever is on sale
Flour
Salt and Pepper
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
2 cans Cream of Mushroom soup
1 Bay leaf
1 can beef broth or beef bullion
Carrots
Onions - cut into large pieces
Potatoes

Directions:
Directions:
Dredge the roast in seasoned flour (salt, pepper and flour)
Sear or braise the meat in a hot skillet with a little oil
Be sure that the meat is well seared, browned outside but still raw inside.
Put meat in the bottom of the crock pot.
Pile the vegetables on top. Mix the liquid ingredients and pour them over the entire mixture.
Cook 8 hours or until it is falling apart. The gravy will be nice and brown and tastes great with mashed potatoes.
