3 cups sugar
3 cups plain flour
1 cup butter
1 TBSP Crisco
1 cup milk
½ tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. lemon flavoring
1 tsp. salt
5 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except eggs until well blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one. Bake in a tube pan for 1 ½ hours at 325º.

For Lemon Pound Cake substitute lemon juice for ¼ cup of milk. Mix juice in milk before adding to cake. Also use zest of one lemon in batter.
