1-9" baked pie shell
1-1/2 c. sugar
3 Tbs. corn starch
3 Tbs. flour
1-1/2 c. hot water
dash of salt
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 Tbs. butter
1/3 c. lemon juice
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cream of tarter
6 Tbs. sugar

Directions:
In saucepan mix 1-1/2 cups sugar, corn starch, flour & salt. Gradually add hot water stirring constantly. Cook & stir over high heat until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat. Cook & stir 2 minutes longer. Stir small amount of hot mixture into egg yolks. Return to hot mixture. Bring to boil. Cook & stir 2 minutes. Add butter & lemon juice. Slowly mix well. Pour into pie shell.

Meringue:
Beat egg whites, vanilla and cream of tarter till soft peaks. Gradually add 6 Tbs. sugar. Beat until stiff. Bake at 350º 10 to 15 minutes.
