1-1/2 c. flour
2 pkg dry yeast
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1-3/4 c. flour
1-1/2 c. chopped apples (opt.)

Topping (make while dough is rising):
3/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 Tbs. corn syrup
1 Tbs. water

Buns:
1. In large bowl combine flour & yeast.
2. Heat milk, butter, water, sugar & salt until warm. Pour into flour & yeast mixture.
3. Add egg & beat on high 3 minutes.
4. By hand, stir in flour. Add apples if desired.
5. Cover & let rise for 30 minutes.

Topping:
1. Combine topping & mix in pan & heat until melted.
2. Pour into a 9 x 13" glass dish.
3. Stir down batter and drop by Tablespoon full on topping.
4. Bake for 15 minutes at 375º.
5. Cool for 1 minute, cover with cookie sheet and carefully invert to remove from pan
Yield: 24 Buns

This recipe may be prepared the night before if covered and refrigerated. Next morning, remove from refrigerator before pre-heating the oven. Bake 15 minutes.
