2 cups plain flour
2 beaten eggs
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 sticks margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 and ½ cup mini marshmallows
1 cup of Coca Cola
½ cup buttermilk

Icing:

1 stick margarine
1 box powdered sugar
6 Tablespoons Coca Cola
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 Tablespoons cocoa
1 cup chopped pecans


Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and flour. Heat cocoa, cola, and margarine to the boiling point in a sauce pan. Stir in the combined flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla and marshmallows and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan and bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes. Pour icing on immediately after removing from oven.

I found this handwritten recipe in one of Mom’s old cookbooks. I can understand why this was a keeper because Mom loved both chocolate and a good cold bottle of Coca Cola with or without cake on the side. This was before Diet Coke as well!
