- 1 bottle golden syrup
- 1 can of sliced pineapple
- Maraschino cherries (1 for each pineapple slice)
- 1 package of vanilla cake mix
- custard (preferred Bird's brand, follow package instructions)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

In a 10" baking pan, evenly pour the golden syrup. Place the pineapple slices in a single layer over the golden syrup. Place a cheery in each center of the pineapple slices. Set aside.

Prepare the vanilla cake mix following the instructions on the box. Pour over the pineapples in the baking pan. Place in preheated over on middle rack and bake for 35 minutes. Remove and let cool.

In the meantime, prepare custard as per package instructions. Pour into an identical sized dish you used to bake the cake. Set aside.

Invert cake over top of custard. Completed cake will have a layer of custard at the bottom, vanilla cake in the middle, topped with a layer of pineapple.
