Prebaked pie shell
½ stick butter, melted
¼ c flour and cornstarch
¾ c sugar
3 egg yolks (save whites for topping)
2 c milk
5 T cocoa
a pinch of salt (if butter is unsalted)
1 t vanilla

Meringue:
3 egg whites
2 t sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and butter until no lumps. Add sugar, egg yolks, milk, cocoa, and salt. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Let mixture cool. Pour in prebaked pie shell.

Beat egg whites and sugar until stiff. Brown meringue at 350˚F for about 10 minutes.
