3 ripe bananas
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening (melted) or salad oil
1 tsp. soda
2 c. flour
2 eggs (beaten)
1/4 c. nuts-chopped
Optional ingredients: 1/2 - 1 c. regular or mini chocolate chips, raisins or coconut

Carmel Frosting
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. canned evaporated milk
1-2 c. powdered sugar
2 T. butter or margarine
1/2-1 tsp. vanilla

BREAD:
Stir together: bananas, sugar, shortening, soda and flour Add eggs and nuts. Mix well and bake in loaf pans (2) at 350º for 45-60 min.

FROSTING:
Combine brown sugar and milk. Bring to a boil and add powdered sugar, butter and vanilla. Frost breads.

Watch carefully the baking time. Test with a toothpick at the earliest time and go from that. Will be very moist and wonderful if NOT baked too long.
