1 C Granulated Sugar
3/4 C dark Karo
1 1/2 C thick Cream
2 Tbsp Butter
1 tsp Rum flavoring
1/2 C chopped Pecans (optional)

Butter an 8x8 pan. Cook, stirring constantly: Sugar, Karo,and 1/2 C cream to soft ball stage, (232*F.) Add 1/2 C cream and cook again to soft ball stage. Now add last 1/2 Cream and boil to 236*F to 240*F, depends on your altitude and the humidity. Remove from heat and stir in Butter, flavoring, and nuts. Pour in buttered pan and let cool. This will take a few hours, or overnight. Cut in 3/4" squares and wrap in waxed paper.

I double this recipe, pouring it into a 9x13x1/2 pan. It fills it perfectly. Use a pizza cutter for easier cutting. You can also use parchment paper to line your pan, just be sure to butter it.
