1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 cups flour
1 cup oats
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 cups applesauce
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Mix soda & applesauce in bowl. Set aside. In separate bowl, cream together sugar, shortening & eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce mix. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at
375º for 10 minutes or until done.
