3 cups white flour
2 cups water
2 tsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. shortening

Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Mix remaining ingredients together in a large bowl. Add yeast mix and 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 cups more flour. Knead 10-12 minutes on floured surface. Let rise until double (1 1/2 hours).
Punch down. Divide. Let stand covered for 10 minutes. Shape & put on greased cookie sheet. Slash top. Let raise about 1 hour. Beat 1 egg white & 1 tsp. water until fluffy. Brush on top & sides of bread. Bake at 375º for 20 min. Remove and brush with egg mix and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Return to oven for 20 minutes more. So worth the extra effort to make.
