Ingredients:
Ingredients:
For the pasta:
1/2 an onion, diced
1/2 cup white wine
1+ tbsp olive oil
1 jar or 2 cups light Alfredo sauce (15-16 ounces)
2 cans of minced clams with juices (13 ounces)
juice of one lemon or 3 tbsp of bottled lemon juice
garlic powder, season to taste
chopped fresh parsley or dried parsley
1 lb lemon chive pasta or lemon pepper pappardelle pasta (Trader Joe's)
salt and pepper, season to taste
Parmesan cheese, to serve

For the breadsticks
1 bag store-bought pizza dough (I use Trader Joe's Garlic & Herb pizza dough)
olive oil
all-purpose flour
garlic powder
red pepper flakes
Parmesan cheese, mozerella, and/or Gouda
marinara sauce for dipping

Directions:
Directions:
For the pasta:
1. Boil a large pot with water and cook pasta according to directions on the package.
2. Heat a pan with olive oil over medium high heat and saute the onion until tender and translucent. Add your white wine and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add your Alfredo sauce, minced clams with juice, garlic powder, and the juice of 1 lemon. Bring to a simmer. Toss in some parsley.
3. Toss sauce with cooked pasta and season with salt and pepper. Serve pasta in bowls and garnish with Parmesan cheese. Makes 4 servings.

For the breadsticks:
1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
2. Take dough out of the refrigerator (leave it in the plastic bag) and let rest for 20 minutes or longer (I've let mine sit out for as long as 2 hours). After resting, lightly flour your work surface and take your dough out of the bag. Use a rolling pin to roll dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. If the dough's too sticky, sprinkle it with flour until it's rollable.
3. Brush dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and fresh Parmesan cheese or cheese blend of your choice. Use a pizza cutter (or knife) to slice the dough into strips about one inch wide. Transfer the strips to a baking sheet.
4. Bake for 14-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with warm marinara sauce for dipping. Makes 8 breadsticks or 4 servings (2 breadsticks = 1 serving).

Personal Notes:
The breadsticks recipe came from the food blog, Playing House. Amy's breadsticks are incredibly easy to make and so good! It is the perfect side dish for something like pasta. I found the clam linguine recipe in a cookbook given to me at my bridal shower by Gene and Peggy, and it's called, Bride and Groom First and Forever Cookbook. It's fantastic! This and the Perfect Brandy Pork Chops recipe is from this cookbook. I was looking for a way to use clams in cooking, and I just love that clams come in cans and are inexpensive. I feel like I'm having a fancy dinner when I eat clams. It certainly brings it up a notch compared to eating chicken day after day. So eat something different tonight, and have a calm and clam-tastic evening!
