1/2 lb. butter, softened (or substitute 1 c. Crisco)
1 c. sugar
3 large eggs
3 tsp. vanilla extract
few drops anise flavoring
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
milk
sesame seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.

Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs, vanilla, and a few drops of anise flavoring. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture to form a soft dough. Roll into log shaped cookies about the size of your thumb. Pour some milk in a shallow bowl. Dip cookies in milk and then roll in sesame seeds to coat.

Place on greased or parchment covered cookie sheet about 1-inch apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool on racks
