2.5 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk or water
2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING
1.5 - 2 apples, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 - 2 Tbsp. sugar
bit pieces of butter

Preheat oven to 350º.

Place first 6b ingredients into a large bowl and blend until smooth. Place batter into greased and floured pan. Top batter with apples, arranged in a single layer. Place bit pieces of butter on top; sprinkle mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake 30 -40 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
