1/2 head cabbage, shredded
2 medium onions, diced
5 or 6 potatoes, diced
green peppers, diced/cubed
hot & mild banana peppers (only use 1 hot)
4 or 5 large tomatoes
4 or 5 ears of corn, cut from cob
bacon grease (or you could use oil/butter)
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
In a large skillet, fry cabbage and onion in bacon grease until tender. Add in diced potatoes and cook while cutting up rest of ingredients. Add all the peppers. Slice the tomatoes on top of the stew and add the corn kernels. Cover and let simmer until potatoes are done. Stir occasionally. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with good crusty bread & butter. Yum!

This is a well known Gamble family recipe that I am sure was handed down from Grandma Gamble. Delicious in the summer time when veggies are in season.
