1 loaf Italian bread, cut across in 3/4-inch slices
3 eggs, well beaten
1/3 cup milk
Butter or margarine as needed (butter tastes better)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs with milk, place in pan and pour beaten eggs over slices, turning slices frequently. Melt butter in skillet; lift slices, one by one, place in skillet and cook until golden brown, turning once.

For purists, dust with a little salt. Otherwise, serve with syrup or sugar.
