The traditional Czech sites say we need 9 dishes for the Christmas meal, fresh carp in the bathtub and garlic under the table.
1. (in lou of carp I vote for) Salmon with dill sauce
2. (instead of cold potato salad) mashed potatoes for the kids
3. dumplings
4. meat- roast pork or beef or chicken or sausage or bacon?
5. salad (green)
6. cabbage
7. soup - mushroom soup
8. roasted root vegetables (beets, carrots, etc.)
9. apples

potica (Lynne's delicious bread recipe)
Christmas cookies (All)
Czech kolaches or raised donut holes with poppy seeds (Jeannette)

Everything is served with beer (root beer for the kids, Todd - beer for the adults)
