4 cups fresh chopped broccoli
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 chopped green onions
1/2 cup dried cranberries
8 slices crumbled bacon
3/4 cup Duke's mayonnaise
2 Tbsps. white vinegar
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix broccoli, onion, pecans, dried cranberries, and crumbled bacon together. Toss well. Add Duke's mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar. Mix well. Refrigerate at least two hours before serving, but can be made up to two days ahead.

Mama loved broccoli salad in any form but this was her favorite salad recipe.
Editor's Note: Mother talked about learning to cook in Chicago with her six sisters, three of whom are pictured above. Growing up in the South, the crispy veggies were a bit strange to us, as we had part-time cooks who kept things on the stove a bit too long. Now I appreciate that the Illinois way was much healthier, and this raw broccoli salad was crispy for sure!
