2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 bag chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream eggs, butter, sugars and vanilla together. In a separate bowl, mix flour, soda, salt and powder. Add to creamed mixture and mix until combined. Add oatmeal and chocolate chips and stir until mixed. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet and bake until light brown.

This cookie recipe came from the 1979 Escondido URC cookbook. We have an ongoing debate in our house whether oatmeal chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin is the best. This is my vote! Jeff will beg to differ. :)
