1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1 (.75 ounce) packet dry brown gravy mix
1 (3 pound) boneless beef chuck roast

In a cast iron or heavy pan, brown the roast on all sides.

Meanwhile, whisk together the water, Italian dressing mix, ranch dressing mix, and brown gravy mix together in a bowl until smooth.

Once browned, place the beef roast into a slow cooker, and pour the sauce over top.

Cook on low until the roast is easily pierced by a fork, 6 to 8 hours.

This is another "so easy it can't be good" recipe, but it's delicious. One of Caleb's favorite meals is pot roast and mashed potatoes, so we have this often in the cooler months (when I can find affordable roasts!). I like to cook the roast closer to 8 hours. We like it falling apart. And the right cut of beef is essential to a good roast. I've messed that up a time or too and the results just aren't the same!
