2 cups coarsely chopped onions
1 cup water
5 cups Corn Chex cereal (crushed)
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano (crushed)
6 tablespoons butter, melted
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups half and half
1/2 teaspoon salt and dash of pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
cooked crumbled bacon

In a small covered saucepan, heat onion and water to boiling. Cover and reduce heat to simmer 10 - 15 minutes or until tender. Drain well.
Preheat oven to 325º. Grease a 9 inch pie pan. Mix Corn Chex, crumbled oregano and melted butter. Press into bottom and sides of pie plate. Bake 8 minutes. Cool before adding other ingredients. Place well drained onions in crust. Combine beaten eggs, half and half, bacon and seasonings. Pour over onions and sprinkle with cheese. Bake 35 minutes until done. Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving.
