1/2 cup sugar
3 T all purpose flour
dash salt
4 eggs
2 cup milk
1/2 t vanilla
43 Nilla Wafers
5-6 ripe sliced bananas

Directions:
Directions:
reserve 2T of sugar.
In top of double boiler combine remaining sugar, flour and salt. Beat in 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks. Reserve the 3 egg whites.
Stir in milk. Cook uncovered over boiling water, stirring constantly 10 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Spoon 1/2 of the custard in the bottom of 1 1/2 qt. casserole dish. Cover with 8 wafers. Top with sliced bananas, pour 2/3 cup custard over bananas. Arrange 10 wafers around the ends. Cover with 11 wafers, top with bananas and 2/3 cup custard.

In bowl beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add reserve sugar. Beat into stiff peaks. spoon over and cover the top of the pudding.
Cook at 325º for 5 minutes or until the top is golden brown
