Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 eggs
4 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons Amaretto liqueur
1 tub Mascarpone cheese
about 16 lady fingers
6 tablespoons of coffee
6 tablespoons of rum
between 1 and 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)
Helpful hints: Buy Mascarpone at Tom Thumb or Kroger, they have small tubs that contain around 220 grams of soft cheese. Buy Ladyfingers (the "real" kind is somewhat hard to come by in the states, I usually get them from Germany but you can try Big Lots, they have them once in a while and Tom Thumb has the soft kind, that tastes just as good - just a little pricey...

Directions:
Directions:
First separate the eggs and beat egg whites. Put egg whites in fridge. Beat egg yolks until creamy. Add sugar - continue to beat, add Amaretto, continue to beat until you have a fairly thick cream. Add mascarpone cheese and then carefully add egg whites.
Put ladyfingers in a square form (8x8, or 9x9), drizzle with coffee and rum until they are soaked. (I usually mix coffee and rum, so I don't have one corner that only tastes like coffee and the other like rum...) Then put cream on top of the ladyfingers and put in fridge for at least 2 hours. Sprinkle with cocoa powder before serving.

I never liked Tiramisu until I tried this recipe from my friend Simone Baker-Kaupp.
