6 T. margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup flour
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp finely shredded lemon peel
2 T. lemon juice
2 T. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Grease an 8x8 baking pan. For cookie base, in mixer bowl, beat margarine on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and salt; beat until fluffy. Stir in flour. Pat into bottom of pan. Bake in 350º oven for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Meanwhile, beat eggs. Add second amount of sugar, lemon peel, lemon juice, flour and baking powder. Beat about 3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Pour over baked layer. Bake in oven, still at 350º, for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned around edges and set in center. Cool and cut into squares. Sift with powdered sugar.
