5-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. salt
1 lb lard
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 egg
Cold water

5 cups sliced, peeled apples (McIntosh, Northern Spy)
3/4cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. butter

Directions:
To make pastry, combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Using a pastry blender cut in lard until mixture is pebbly. In a liquid measure, beat together vinegar and egg. Pour in enough water to make 1 cup. Gradually pour liquid over flour mixture, tossing ingredients together with a fork and adding only enough liquid to make dough cling together.
