1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Pinch grated nutmeg
1/3 cup softened butter or margarine
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 cup mashed ripe banana

Preheat oven to 350°F. Measure flour and reserve 2 Tbsp. To coat berries. Sift remaining flour with baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture and banana alternately to egg mixture. Coat blueberries with reserved 2 Tbsp. flour. Carefully stir into batter. Spoon into a well-greased 7x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven 60 to 75 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the centre comes out clean. Cool slightly before removing form pan. Makes 1 loaf.
