1 c quick oat meal
11/2 c boiling water
1/2 c butter
1 c white sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
11/2 c flour
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon

Topping;
6 T melted butter
1/4 c milk
1 c brown sugar
1 c coconut
2 t vanilla
1 c walnuts - chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Soak the oatmeal in the boiling water. Cream together the butter, white and brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add to the oatmeal mixture. Blend the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon together. Add to the oatmeal mixture. When well mixed, put in a greased 9"X13" pan; bake at 350º for 40 minutes.

While cake is baking prepare the topping:
Put the butter and milk in a pan; when melted, add the sugar till that is melted. Remove from heat and add other ingredients. Spread on cake and put in oven on broil. Broil it until topping is a light brown. Keep watching it - it only takes a few minutes.
