1 c. shortening
1/2 c. margarine or butter
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 (7 oz.) package instant spiced apple flavored drink mix
1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
3 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. chopped dried apples pieces

Preheat oven to 350º
In an extra large mixing bowl, beat shortening and margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium-high speed for 30 seconds
Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, instant dried mix, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Beat until combined, scraping the sides of bowl occasionally
Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined
Beat in as much flour as you can with mixer
With a wooden spoon, stir in remaining flour, oats, raisins and dried apple's
Drop dough by rounded tsp. onto an ungreased baking baking sheet
Bake for about 12 minutes or until lightly browned
