2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 - 2 tsp. finely shredded lemon peel (set aside)
1/3 c. lemon juice
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350º
Stir together the 2 c. flour and 1/2 c. powdered sugar
Cut in butter or margarine until mixture clings together
Press into the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until lightly browned
In a medium mixing bowl beat together eggs, granulated sugar and lemon juice
Combine the 1/4 c. flour and baking powder; stir into egg mixture along with the lemon peel
Pour over baked crust
Bake for 25 minutes more
Let cool in pan on a wire rack
Sift additional powdered sugar over top
Cut into bars or into 2 x 1 3/4 inch diamonds
