¾ cup butter softened
1 cup sugar

¼ cup Brer Rabbit light or dark Molasses
1 egg

2 cups sifted all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon ground ginger
Extra granulated sugar to roll dough in.

Cream sugar and butter. Add molasses and egg to mixture.Cream together.

In separate bowl add all dry ingredients and mix. Then add wet and dry ingredients. Mix well. Cover and chill. Form dough into 1” balls (I use my smallest Pampered Chef scope). Roll in sugar "extra granulated sugar". Place 2” apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 6 to 8 minutes. I like 6:30 to 7 minutes. Let stand 1 minute or so. Remove and place on cooling rack.

So Yummy!!! If you like these spices, I find doubling the amounts of the noted spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger) to be quite nice.
