1 C Butter softened
2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
2 1/2 C Flour
1/2 C Corn starch
3 tsp Baking powder
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add the dry ingredients. Dough will be very thick.

Divide dough and roll each portion into a tube about 7-8 inches long. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Remove 1 roll of dough at a time and slice about 1/4 inch thick slices. Decorate with whatever you like ... Sprinkles, candied cherries, red hots.

Bake at 350º for about 10 to 15 minutes. Cool completely before storing.

This is the recipe you all liked to help Oma make, so you could eat the end of the roll. Dad still grabs the end of the roll when I make these cookies.
