1 lb. butter - soft but NOT liquid
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
6 c. oatmeal
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 bag chocolate chips - 12 or 16 oz.

Directions:

Combine butter, salt, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for average 10-12 minutes. (Actual times vary from 8-15 minutes.)
Cook until edges are brown. **Cookies will look undercooked!**

Makes lots of cookies! Can be divided for smaller quantities. Be sure that you don't cook so long they look dry/done, or they will be hard as rocks!

Variations work well with this recipe: exchanging chips for butterscotch flavor chips, or add 1 c. peanut butter, or roll in cinnamon before baking.
