1-cup self-rising cornmeal
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 14.5-ounce can cream-style corn
2 cups vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornmeal with flour. Add egg, onion and corn. Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil and fry until golden brown. The oil is hot enough when a fritter floats back to the surface after you drop it in.
