1 1/2 cup butter
3 1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter over low heat, add sugars and milk. Stir until melted. Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches soft ball stage or 236º on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and beat in vanilla. Continue beating until frosting has cooled enough to reach spreading stage. Frost layers, sides and top of cake. (Frosting for a 3 layer cake)
