1/2 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups chopped peaches, fresh or canned
2 eggs well beaten 1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter 1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 cups flour 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar , add the eggs and beat thoroughly. Sift the dry ingredients together and add alternately with the milk. Starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Fold in the peaches , lemon juice and vanilla.
Drop by tsp into hot fat and fry until golden brown.
Serve with whipped cream or sprinkle with powdered sugar

This is a "Pennsylvania Dutch' recipe from the recipe box of my Grandmother, Mary Remaley . She lived several hours away from us, but she shared her love of cooking with my mother and then me as I grew up.
She was the only grandmother I knew and I loved her dearly.
"PA Dutch " is actually people and language of German immigrants.
